DE COMPRAS POR SANTA GERTRUDIS

Hola a todos!!

Uno de mis lugares preferidos de Ibiza (clic) es el pueblo de Santa Gertrudis. En el centro de la isla, es el típico pueblo tranquilo, con ambiente familiar para ir a desayunar o cenar rodeado de silencio y paz. Con una iglesia encantadora, forma parte de esa otra Ibiza que nunca sale en los reportajes y que, en mi opinión, es la que realmente engancha a todo el mundo.

En Santa Gertrudis podréis encontrar también algunas tiendas de lo más especiales. Hoy os traigo la primera entrega con dos de ellas: Angels Ibiza y Es Cucons. Ésta última, además, se aloja en una típica casa payesa balear por lo que merece la pena visitarla. Os dejo algunas fotografías, ¿a que es casi imposible no comprarse algo?

Hi everyone! One of my favourite spots in Ibiza (clic) is a little town called Santa Gertrudis. It’s located in the middle of the island, and it’s one of those typical quiet towns, the perfect place to have breakfast or dinner surrounded by a quiet and familiar atmosphere. With an enchanting church, it’s part of the “other Ibiza”, the unknown one that never appears on TV. And it’s also the one that gets people addicted.

In Santa Gertrudis you can also find some very special shops. Today I’m bringing you the first part of this post with some of them: Angels Ibiza and Es Cucons. The latter is located in a traditional Balearic house, or casa payesa in Spanish, so it’s worth visiting it. Here you have some photographs, don't you see that it’s imposible not to buy something?

Ya estamos de vuelta. ¿¡Qtal las vacaciones!? Espero que hayáis disfrutado y descansado todos mucho, que hayáis viajado, cerca o lejos, y que hayáis sacado muchas fotos. Los que seguís el blog en twitter (@madridimas) o Facebook ya sabréis que estamos preparando un post con vuestras fotografías de estas vacaciones. Así que si queréis participar sólo tenéis que enviárnoslas por las redes sociales (en el caso de twitter mencionando al blog). Animaros a participar! Mientras tanto, hoy arrancamos con alguna novedad como la versión en inglés (abajo) o nuestro blogroll con los mejores blogs de Madrid. Y como cada lunes, un poco de arte para empezar la semana.


Una de las exposiciones que se han inaugurado este verano es la retrospectiva del artista italiano Alighiero Boetti en el MoMA de Nueva York (clic). Estará abierta al público hasta el 1 de octubre y se ha llevado a cabo en colaboración con el Museo Reina Sofia de Madrid y la Tate Modern de Londres. Se trata de la mayor muestra que ha tenido lugar fuera de Italia hasta la fecha. Organizada cronológicamente, la exposición revisa toda la carrera del artista, empezando por las esculturas u objetos, tal y como prefería llamarlos él, creados a partir de materiales cotidianos como la madera, el cartón o el aluminio.

Alighiero Fabrizio Boetti, más conocido como Alighiero e Boetti (1940 – 1994) es uno de los artistas conceptuales más conocidos, considerado también integrante del movimiento artístico Povera. Italiano, sus obras más conocidas pertenecen a la serie de mapas del mundo, creadas desde 1971 hasta su muerte.

We are back from the summer break, how were your holidays!? I hope you had a great time, you relaxed and travelled a lot, either near or far, and you have taken a lot of photographs. All followers of our blog at Twitter (@madridimas) or Facebook know that we are preparing a post with your holiday pictures. In the meantime, today we begin with some innovations such as the English version and the blogroll where you can find the best blogs about Madrid. And, as every Monday, we begin the week with art.

One of the exhibitions which opened this summer was the retrospective of the italian artist Alighiero Boetti at the MoMA Museum of New York (clic). It will be open until the 1st of October and it has been organized in collaboration with the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid and the Tate Modern in London. It is the largest presentation outside of Italy of his works to date. Organized chronologically, the exhibition will span Boetti’s entire career beginning with his sculptural works, or objects as he preferred to call them, comprised of everyday materials including wood, cardboard and aluminum.

Alighiero Fabrizio Boetti, known as Alighiero e Boetti (1940 – 1994), was an Italian conceptual artist, considered to be a member of the art movement Arte Povera. He is most famous for a series of embroidered maps of the world created between 1971 and his death.
